Bill Marimon work bio
In the years that Bill Marimon has been a Graphics artist and Illustrator he has amassed a wealth of knowledge and skills utilizing such tools in digital media as Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Maya and 3D Studio Max. His more traditional skills include Illustration, Design, Painting and Story boarding.
Bill first got his start when he was hired by Allen Corporation to create slides and work manuals for pilot training the Harrier Jet this particular job required him to get a security clearance.
While working for EPL Productions he worked with some very well known clients such as General Electric in which he developed and designed characters, sets and storyboards for an animation, Disney in which he designed characters and sets for Disney Quest, Lockheed Martin (which also required security clearance)where he worked with the Simulation and Video game department (which later became Real 3D) in which he created content to the specifications of the Programmers for Military simulation and an arcade game “Behind Enemy Lines” Bill’s next project was for Sega in which he provided content for the video game Shenmue that was over three years in the making and broke new ground in 3D graphic detail.
His most recent project for EPL was a mini animation film “Stellar Quest Of The Forbidden” for E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo and as Art Director for the project he over saw every aspect of the demo’s production. (This mini animation won a Telly award in 06.
As a result many companies approached EPL for Movie and Video game options.
Another company, in which Bill worked; Animill provided him the opportunity to design characters and sets for commercials for Seaworld and Compaq the latter of which earned him a Telly Award.
Bill also worked in the comic book industry, getting his start at AC Comics where he was the writer and illustrator for a number of books such as Ms. Victory, Fem Force and She Cat. He later landed work at Marvel comicswhere he was the artist on The Punisher and Silver Surfer, DC Comics took notice of his talents and offered him work on The Green Arrow and after completing a couple of issues Bill along with writer Tom Joyner was offered and allowed to co-create a new character for DC Comics, which came to be known as DAMAGE.
In his other foray into publishing Bill penciled, inked and colored a children’s book titled Power Angels for Jawbone publishing.
Bill Marimon has also done work as a political cartoonist providing work The Orlando Times news paper and The Florida Banker magazine.
Bill’s work has earned him two Telly Awards one for “Brand New Day” an animated production for Compaq and as Art Director for a short animated film “Stellar Quest of the Forbidden”. He also won the Ignatz award for great contribution to the field of comic art.
